In this week’s episode:
Clash In Cleveland
The first presidential debate has largely been written off as a disaster with the biggest loser being the American people.
During the debate, President Trump constantly broke the rules, interrupted Joe Biden and made numerous false statements.
For his part, Biden did not come out so clean, either. He called the president a clown and told him to shut up.
Trump’s display at the debate is the latest example of why he has lost the support of many moderate Republicans. While some of those Republicans are just sitting out elections and not voting for Trump, others are taking action.
Much like the Lincoln Project, a national group of Republicans actively campaigning against Trump, Ohio has its own version called Operation Grant. The group, which is named for Civil War general, former President and Ohio native Ulysses S. Grant, is actively working to defeat Trump.
Snollygoster Of The Week: DeWine Press Secretary Dan Tierney
Gov. Mike DeWine continues to draw criticism from a select few conservative Republicans in the Ohio legislature. The latest came this week when state Rep. John Becker demanded criminal charges be filed against DeWine over his public health orders.
A county prosecutor immediately rejected the request, but the stunt prompted the following response from Gov. DeWine’s press secretary Dan Tierney: “If this were serious, I would have a comment. Because it is patently absurd, I do not.”
Now that’s a terrific no-comment comment.
